MANGUE SECO CANOEING SAND
Enjoy a quiet day in nature away from the hustle and bustle of Salvador de Bahia with this guided day trip to the beautiful coastal village of Mangue Seco. Experience the perfect combination of idyllic beaches, nature and adventure in Mangue Seco, which is 220km north of Bahia. A great day out for all the family!
Mangue Seco is a small fishing village located among Mangrove swamps on the edge of a peninsula between the River Reial and the Atlantic Ocean. The settlement is not accessible by road so the fun starts when the expedition crosses the river in traditional canoes in a 30-minute ride.
Once on the other side of the river, board beach buggies for a crazy 40-minute rollercoaster ride around the sand dunes. There’ll be plenty of stops to make photographs and the ride will finish at one the best beaches in the region with fine white sand. Lie back in a hammock as you enjoy the sun and the sound of the Atlantic breakers or explore the sand dunes.
After lunch at any of the local traditional restaurants (not included) head for Casa Tieta, the home of a character from an extremely popular Brazilian soap opera based on a novel by famous author Jorge Amado. Here you’ll have the opportunity to try some of the region’s renowned ice-cream before crossing the river again and returning to the hotel.
