Delhi isn’t just the political capital of India; it’s also the culinary capital and is known throughout the country for its delicious food and drink. Join the locals in the streets of Delhi’s Kamla Nagar neighbourhood as you sample different Indian snacks and visit some of the area’s most popular food spots. The tour starts with a trip by rickshaw, one of the most colourful methods of transport, as you pass through the city's university district, stopping at an ancient temple of Hanuman, the monkey god. After visiting the temple, we head out to our first food stop and watch fresh shawarma being made. From here, we’ll continue on to a popular neighbourhood eatery. Here, you can enjoy a local favourite – momos (Tibetan dumplings), washed down with fresh fruit beer and banta, a delicious and refreshing citrus drink. We'll then continue through the Kamla Market and head for a narrow alley full of delectable street-food joints. Then it's time to stroll on through the colourful market where you'll be dazzled by the variety of goods for sale. We’ll try some crispy potatoes and stop for the best home-made ice cream in Delhi. A little more walking through the bustling streets of Delhi will lead us to our final stop – a sweet shop, where we’ll have the opportunity to try some traditional Indian sweetmeats. This delectable Delhi food tour will leave you wanting to come back for more long after you leave this enigmatic city. This afternoon tour leaves every day at 16:00 from Vishwidhalaya Metro Station and includes English speaking tour guide, rickshaw ride and food as indicated. Others Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.
