We round things up with a stop at the famous South Gate, where the gods and demons line the road leading to the gate struggling in a cosmic tug-of-war. Top up your energy levels with a sumptuous Khmer lunch near Srah Srang, the Royal Pool of Ablutions, originally reserved for the king and his consorts. Afterwards, choose a nap lazing in a hammock or explore the area and rub shoulders with the locals. Fed and watered, roll on to the haunting Ta Prohm temple, which featured in the Angelina Jolie movie Tomb Raider! Feel like one of the early explorers as you wander around this temple, which has been left to be reclaimed by the jungle and looks as though its collapsing under the weight of sprung trees.
